Conlin and Grandview works to last at least until summer

The City of Oshawa has issued a notice of reconstruction and widening of Conlin Road East from east of Harmony Road North to Kurelo Drive as well as the construction of a new roundabout at Grandview Street North and Conlin Road East.

The contractor, Graham Bros, mobilized and has been working since August. The project will take place over two years and is planned to be completed in November 2026, the city said.

Grandview R/A Delayed

The Grandview Street North roundabout construction began in August and was planned to be completed in December, but due to the significant winter weather the work will not be able to be completed this year as planned.

The roundabout will now be completed in the summer of 2026 and Conlin Road East including the Grandview Street North intersection will remain closed through the winter. The work on Conlin Road East between Harmony Road and Grandview Street is still planned for completion in 2026.

The notice added that unfavourable weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances may impact the work schedule.

Road Closures

Full road closures will be in effect during construction, the notice said.

The intersection of Grandview Street North and Conlin Road East will remain fully closed, and Conlin Road East will be closed from Coppermine Street to Kurelo Drive until work is completed in the summer of 2026.

Residents living in the subdivision north of Conlin Road East near Grandview Street North should use Brittania Avenue to Harmony Road North or Brittania Avenue to Coppermine Street.

During 2026, Conlin Road East will be closed from Harmony Road North to the west side of Grandview Street North. Further advance public notices will be provided to detail dates and closure limits.

Works Details

The notice said the work will also include a new storm sewer along Conlin Road East, a new multi-use pathway on the south side of Conlin Road ast. from Coppermine Street to Kurelo Drive, a new sidewalk on the north side of Conlin Road East from Harmony Road North to west of Kurelo Drive.

There will also be work on regional infrastructure including new watermain near Harmony Road North, Coppermine Street and Cayenne Street and new sanitary sewer at Coppermine Street, the city said.
