Consensual fight video leads to 17-year old’s arrest

A 17-year-old male has been charged and one suspect is wanted following a violent assault on two other males causing serious injuries.

On Monday, July 26, at approximately 9:45 am, members from North Division commenced an investigation into a serious assault which had occurred on Saturday, July 24, at the end of Moorlands Drive, in Beaverton. At approximately 11 pm, several males attended this location for a consensual fight when two of the parties produced weapons. One victim received serious injuries as a result of being slashed with a knife and struck with a metal pole.

A video emerged of the attack and officers were able to identify the suspects who were armed with weapons.

A 17-year old male of Brock Township has been charged with:Aggravated Assault x3; Assault with a Weapon x2; Uttering Threats x3 and Possession of Weapons Dangerous to the Public Peace x2. He was held for a bail hearing.

Police continue to search for the second suspect.
