Covid Update: Two new covid cases in hospital

Durham Health yesterday posted nine new Covid-19 cases for July 28, taking the region’s tally to 25,402 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 374, with 218 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 24,969. However, there are 59 active covid cases. Two are hospitalized with none in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 57 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • One new case in Pickering
  • Two in Ajax
  • One in Whitby
  • Four in Oshawa, and
  • One in Scugog

Covid Deaths: 374

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 67 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 59 reported deaths in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 62 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
23 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
