Couple who tried to traffic Durham female victim, held

Durham police said a man who was wanted on several charges related to a human trafficking investigation has been arrested.

Last May 1, the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) launched an investigation following allegations involving the exploitation of a female victim.

Investigators determined that the victim initially met the suspects in Oshawa in February 2025. A man and woman were both identified in connection with this investigation.

Investigators located the female suspect and arrested her on last July 3. An arrest warrant was issued for the male suspect.

On Thursday, March 12, members of the Offender Management Unit located and arrested the male suspect.

The suspect, age 44 from Oshawa, was charged and is being held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
