Durham Health yesterday posted 175 new Covid-19 cases for April 7, taking the region’s tally to 15,466 since the count began on February 29 2020.
Variants cases stood at 2,470 (2,300), up by 170. Durham’s overall death toll stands at 309, with 217 of them occurring in LTCs. One new death was reported in Clarington.
Recoveries stand at 13,785 (13,639), up by 145. There are 1,372 active covid cases.
Forty-nine cases are hospitalized with 24 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 1,323 people in home isolation.
Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far in Ajax.
There were:
- 51 cases in Pickering
- 33 in Ajax
- 20 in Whitby
- 38 in Oshawa
- 14 in Clarington
- 11 in Uxbridge
- 6 in Scugog
- 3 in Brock
Death Toll: Total – 309 LTC – 217
Of the 99 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTC
Of the 52 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Forty-eight deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 53 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
Seventeen deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
Sixteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
No deaths have been reported in Brock
