Dead body found in Oshawa yet to be identified

Durham Police yesterday announced they have found human remains in Oshawa.

After receiving information about human remains buried underground, officers initiated a search in a green space area near Secreto Drive and Britannia Avenue East on Thursday, November 4. DRPS Forensic Identification Services were called in to lead the search.

On Monday, November 8, human remains were located. Police will remain at the scene until the extraction is completed and further investigation will be completed in order to identify the remains. The Homicide Unit believes these remains are linked to a historical case and there is no concern for public safety, said a police statement.

The investigation is ongoing and we will provide further update once identity is confirmed.
