Don Mitchell, Mayor of Whitby, has congratulated resident Mike Shoreman, who left Whitby on Saturday, to start his 140km journey from Rochester, NY, to Toronto.
Shoreman is challenging stereotypes of people with disabilities; he was told he’d never paddleboard again.
“Let’s show him support and wish him luck! ” the mayor said.
