19-year old caught doing 125 in 70 kmh zone

Officers from Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division have charged a 19-year old male after he was clocked going 125 kmh in a 70 kmh zone.

His vehicle was impounded for 14 days. Please keep the roadways safe by obeying the speed limit, DRPS said.

The incident took place on Thursday at about 8:15 pm on Solina Rd and Clarington Con Rd 7.

Car rolls over

Also on Thursday, DRPS reported that a car rolled over in North Durham at Goodwood and Uxbridge Con Rd 6.

The incident happened at 2:50 am. There were two occupants in the vehicle, police said.

It said the vehicle left the road and hit a tree. Passenger suffered minor injuries, while the driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a Toronto trauma centre.
