Driver hits boulder in parking lot… found with gun

A man was arrested following a single vehicle collision resulting in the discovery of a loaded gun on Sunday morning in Oshawa.

On June 6, at approximately 6:30 am, members of Central West Division were called to a single motor vehicle collision on Founders Drive. The suspect lost control of his vehicle in the parking lot, striking a large boulder. Officers tended to the driver of the vehicle who was impaired and found to have a loaded revolver in his possession.

The male did not suffer any injuries and was taken into custody.

Andre Hanson, age 30, of Toronto, is facing numerous charges including; Unauthorized Possession of a Loaded Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Car; Impaired Operation of A Conveyance; Possession of Cannabis For the Purpose of Distributing; Breach Peace Bond x2.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Toronto man arrested with drugs and guns

Durham Police investigators from North Division arrested a male suspect who is now facing numerous firearms and drug trafficking charges as part of an ongoing drug investigation in North Durham.

On Friday June 4, 2021, investigators from North Division with the assistance of the Gun and Gang Unit arrested the suspect in the parking lot of a Beaverton Motel as part of an ongoing drug investigation. Police seized fentanyl, cash and an Infiniti vehicle as part of the investigation.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on Markham Road in Toronto. Police seized a firearm, two replica firearms, ammunition, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and other related evidence.

Triston Courtland Grant, age 33 of Markham Road in Toronto, is charged with numerous criminal charges including: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x3 (Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Fentanyl); Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm; Restricted Firearm with Readily Accessible Ammunition; Possession of Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence and Breach of Recognizance x2.

He was held for a bail hearing.
