DRPS gun trafficking investigation nets three

A gun trafficking investigation by the Durham Police Regional Service (DRPS) Gun & Gang Unit yesterday resulted in three arrests, the seizure of three handguns, one rifle and approximately $400,000 in drugs.

Members of the DRPS Gun and Gang Unit executed search warrants at a commercial property in Scarborough and at the suspect’s residence on Cockman Lane in Ajax. Investigators seized three handguns, one rifle, approximately $400,000 in cocaine and fentanyl, ammunition and just over $15,000 in Canadian currency, said a media release.

Tremaine Daley-HyattT, age 24, of Cockman Lane in Ajax is charged with 33 drug and gun-related criminal charges, including: Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2 (fentanyl,cocaine); Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number; Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition; Careless Storage of Firearm and Possession of a Stolen Firearm, it added.

Jessica Capesky and Kristina Morais, age 28, of No Fixed Address are charged with: Fail to Comply with Recognizance.

They were all held for a bail hearing.
