DRPS tips to fast-food outlets in case they’re robbed

The DRPS Major Crime Robbery Unit visited more than 130 fast-food establishments across Durham Region over the weekend to educate employees.

With assistance of members from front-line officers and the Auxiliary Unit, the officers handed out stickers about what to do in the event of a robbery as well as flyers with crime prevention tips.

D/Cst. Brian Stewart of the Robbery Unit organized this initiative to better educate the restaurants in the event they are a victim of a robbery. Cst. Erin Howard of Central East Division also became involved and developed the flyer that was distributed.

The business managers and employees of the 136 shops were visited in Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa and Clarington.
