Durham Craft Beer Festival is hosting their Spring event at Children’s Arena, Oshawa, on Saturday May 11, featuring an expanded program and new partners celebrating the science of craft brewing.
“With a dozen craft breweries, cideries, and distilleries already confirmed from Durham Region and beyond, this sampling event builds on last year’s success as a premiere craft beer tasting event in Durham Region, with both Spring (May 11) and Fall (October 5) events planned for the City of Oshawa’s 100th Anniversary celebrations,” said spokesperson Jeff Davis.
He said local food trucks will also be in attendance and an expanded entertainment package includes local musical talent as well as a game zone featuring interactive low impact games and an exciting virtual reality simulation by Ctrl V.
The science of craft brewing will experiment with a ‘blind tasting’ booth sponsored by Khuva Labs from Halifax. In support of Cans For Change, a drop off point for empties will raise funds for the Durham Black Students Network.
Admission includes a collectable souvenir glass, three sampling tokens, access to all amenities in a weather protected venue (food trucks are located outside).
The event is sponsored in part by Durham Tourism. Glassware sponsored by Sir Monty’s Brewing Company.
