Durham Region Health Department yesterday said 995 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the region since February 29.
On Thursday, the count had stood at 955.
Of the total cases, 40 are hospitalized, of which three are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Deaths total 113, of which 96 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 482.
Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 386 were in Pickering followed by 261 in Ajax and 160 in Oshawa.
Death Toll:
- Of the 58 reported deaths in Pickering, 56 were in LTCH
- Of the 27 reported deaths in Ajax, 24 were in LTCH
- Two deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
- Of the 16 reported deaths in Oshawa, 12 were in LTCH
- Six deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
- Four deaths in LTCH were reported in Uxbridge
- No deaths have been reported in Scugog or Brock
