Durham Health announces one new covid death

Durham Health yesterday announced one covid-related death on Tuesday, November 10, in Clarington. It also revised the number of covid cases for Wednesday to 61 — second highest in the region so far.

The last covid-related death was announced for October 15; and previous to that, one death on July 9.

The health authority posted 46 new Covid-19 cases for Thursday, bringing the total to 3,567 since the count began on February 29. Recoveries tally 3,051, up by 33.

  • Twenty-one new cases were reported in Ajax
  • Nine in Pickering
  • Eight in Whitby
  • Five each in Oshawa, and Clarington, and
  • One in Brock
  • Six cases are still under investigation

Ten cases are hospitalized with two in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 323 people in home isolation.

Deaths so far total 183, of which 153 were in long term care homes (LTCH).

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 1,082 in Ajax, followed by 964 in Pickering and 598 in Oshawa.

Death Toll: One new death in Clarington

Of the 89 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 38 reported deaths in Ajax, 32 were in LTCH
Four deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH
Eight deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
21 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Scugog
No deaths have been reported in Brock

  2. I was also thinking the choice of this photo is in poor taste. Take it down or change it. How would feel if this was your loved one. It’s disgraceful.
