Firearms, cash, drugs seized in raids

Two males and one female face numerous firearms-related charges after a gun investigation led to the seizure of firearms, cash and drugs.

Last December, members of the Gun and Gang Unit commenced a firearm investigation. Durham police investigators executed a search warrant at a commercial property in Scarborough and a residence in Pickering which resulted in the seizure of three handguns, one rifle and approximately $400,000 in drugs (fentanyl, cocaine) and cash. At this time the suspect Tremaine Dayley-Hyatt was arrested for the initial seizure, said a media release.

In March, investigators continued the investigation and conducted search warrants at another commercial property and residence in Ajax which resulted in an additional seizure of three handguns and over $200,000 in cash. Dayley-Hyatt was charged with additional charges, police also arrested a female and male in relation to these warrants.

Tremaine Dayley-Hyatt, age 25 of Cockman Lane in Ajax faces a combined 46 drug and firearms-related charges.

Carla Dayley, age 49 of Kingston Road in Pickering faces 13 firearms-related charges.

Tristan Higgins, age 19 of Kingston Road in Pickering faces five firearms-related charges.

They were all held for bail hearings.
