Ten positive cases of Covid-19 in Durham

Durham Region Health Department yesterday said it is currently monitoring ten positive cases of Covid-19 in Durham Region.

It did not provide the individual locations of the cases.

The Health Department said it is actively following up with all close contacts of these positive cases. Individuals who were not in direct or close contact with the cases are not considered at risk of being infected.

Case 1: A 63-year old man who returned from travel to Florida on March 15, tested positive for Covid-19 on March 17. He is at home on self-isolation, where he will remain for the duration of his recovery.

Case 2: An 82-year old man tested positive for Covid-19 on March 17. He is currently hospitalized at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Case 3: A 40-year old man returning from travel overseas and the United States on March 1, tested positive for Covid-19 on March 15. He is at home on self-isolation, where he will remain for the duration of his recovery.

Case 4: A 51-year-old woman returned from travel to New York state on March 9, tested positive for Covid-19 on March 14. She is at home on self-isolation, where she will remain for the duration of her recovery.

Case 6: A 25-year-old woman, the daughter of the case above, also returned from travel to New York state on March 9, and tested positive for Covid-19 on March 14. She is at home on self-isolation, where she will remain for the duration of her recovery.

Case 7: A 60-year-old woman who returned from travel overseas on March 9, tested positive for Covid-19 on March 13. She is at home on self-isolation, where she will remain for the duration of her recovery.

Case 8: A 57-year-old male, the husband of the case above, also returned from travel overseas on March 9,  and tested positive for Covid-19 on March 13. He is at home on self-isolation, where he will remain for the duration of his recovery.

Case 9: A 72-year-old woman who returned from travel overseas on March 8, tested positive for Covid-19 on March 13. She is at home on self-isolation, where she will remain for the duration of her recovery.

Case 9: A 51-year-old woman who returned from travel to Iran on February 22, tested positive on February 29. She is at home on self-isolation, where she will remain for the duration of her recovery.

Case 1o: The 69-year-old husband of the case above, also tested positive for Covid-19 on February 29. He is at home on self-isolation, where he will remain for the duration of his recovery, the Health Department said.
