Whitby Fire and Emergency Services (WFES) on Friday conducted live-fire training as part of its onboarding process for its new firefighter recruits.
Members of the Town of Whitby’s Council and Senior Leadership Team also participated in the training to help build increased understanding of the important role firefighters play to keep the community safe.
During the exercise, WFES displayed and taught participants techniques for fire suppression, search and rescue, and firefighter rehabilitation.
The training is part of ongoing emergency exercises conducted by WFES to ensure firefighters are prepared to respond to any situation.
