Four heroes pull elderly man out of car on fire

Four citizens are being credited with saving the life of an 81-year-old male whom they pulled from a fiery vehicle in Uxbridge Township on Sunday. It was a single motor vehicle collision.

On September 22 at 12:10 am, an adult and three teens were driving in the area of Regional Road 1 and Zephyr Road when they saw a vehicle off the roadway and on fire.

The Good Samaritans approached the car and saw a male unconscious at the wheel. They were able to free him and pull him to safety just before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.

Police, Fire and EMS arrived on scene. The male was uninjured, but refused to provide a breath sample and was charged accordingly.

Hartley Washington, age 81 of Lexington Avenue in Toronto, is charged with Refuse to Provide Sample.
