Man stabbed confronting thieves for stealing weed

An Oshawa man was rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds after confronting two masked men in his backyard on Saturday.

On September 21 at 3:45 am, Central East Division officers responded to an armed person call at a residence in the Ritson Road South/Olive Avenue area of Oshawa.

Officers located the 39-year-old male homeowner in his backyard suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed directly to a Toronto trauma centre, where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The victim said he had noticed a motion light turn on in the backyard and went outside to investigate. He confronted two males who were in the backyard stealing marijuana plants. The male victim suffered multiple stab wounds while confronting the two suspects, who then fled to a waiting vehicle. Several marijuana plants were stolen, which were legally being grown by the victim.

Suspect #1 is described as a male, white, 5’6″ tall, with a slender build, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, brown pants and black & white running shoes.

Suspect #2 is described as male, white, 5’9″ tall, medium build, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gray shoes, carrying a backpack.
