Nonquon River and Pefferlaw Creek bridges being replaced

The Regional Municipality of Durham is notifying residents of upcoming road closures on Reach Street and Sandford Road in the townships of Scugog and Uxbridge.

These will be from May 15 until mid-November. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule, the region said.

It said Reach Street, between Highway 12/7 and Marsh Hill Road, in the Township of Scugog; and on Sandford Road, between Concession Road 2 and Concession Road 3, in the Township of Uxbridge, will be closed.

The closure is needed to safely replace the bridges over Nonquon River and Pefferlaw Creek.

The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
