Ajax says ‘remove your stuff’ for street lighting replacements

The Town of Ajax has retained Alectra Energy Solutions for the buried streetlight system replacement project on Danton Court, Pittman Crescent and Bolland Crescent.

The value of the contract was not revealed.

Alectra Energy Solutions is scheduled to commence work the week of October 19. The work is expected to be completed by end of November. Please note that the schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, said a town notice.

Works include:

  • Installation of new underground ducts and wiring for the existing streetlights.
  • Streetlight pole replacement where required
  • Site cleanup and restoration works.

The town said during construction there may be:

Temporary Disruptions: Residents should expect typical construction-related impacts, including minor dust, noise, and temporary inconvenience

Traffic Management: Traffic control measures, including flagging and signage, will be in place to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through the work zone. Minor delays should be expected

Remove Your Stuff

The town said it is not responsible for damage to privately-owned items located within the municipal right-of-way. Residents are encouraged to remove irrigation systems, landscaping, or other items in advance of construction.

It said every effort will be made to minimize any disturbance during construction.

In the event private utility services (e.g., Bell, Rogers) are impacted during construction, the town requested residents to contact their service provider to arrange repairs at no cost.
