UPDATE: Pickering home break-in suspects held

Four suspects were arrested and another is being sought after a home invasion overnight in Pickering.

On Wednesday, Durham Police announced they have seized a shotgun from the scene.

On Monday, December 9 at 12:30 am, members of West Division responded to a home invasion at a residence near Glenanna Road and Liverpool Road in Pickering. According to one of the four victims, five male suspects, one armed with a shotgun, entered the home and forced them to the ground while they proceeded to take personal effects and electronics from within the residence, said a police media release.

The suspects assaulted two of the residents and they suffered minor injuries. The suspects fled on foot to an awaiting vehicle. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle and arrested three occupants. A sawed-off shotgun was seized nearby. Two suspects fled on foot. K-9 attended and they located one male who fled. Investigators are still looking for one suspect who fled on foot, it added.

Anthony Jallim, age 18, of Brampton and three young persons from Toronto and Brampton face 12 criminal charges each including: Robbery; Pointing a Firearm; Break and Enter; Forcible Confinement; Weapons Dangerous and Disguise with Intent. They were held for bail hearings.

Investigators continue to look for a fifth male suspect in relation to this incident. There are no descriptors at this time.

Investigators continue to investigate whether it was a targeted incident or not.
