A teen boy from Ajax has landed himself in jail for holding up a restaurant with a firearm and stealing clothing.
On Thursday, October 29, at about 8:00 pm, officers from West Division responded to an armed person call at a Tim Hortons in the area of Middlecote Drive and Taunton Road East in Ajax.
An argument occurred inside the restaurant between the accused and the victim, during which the accused threatened the victim and indicated he was in possession of a firearm.
The accused then followed the victim outside, brandished a firearm from his waistband, demanded clothing items, and attempted to take them before fleeing on foot prior to police arrival.
The 17 year old boy was held for a bail hearing. Investigators later determined the accused was bound by a release order prohibiting him from possessing weapons.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Dusko of West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1905.
