Blackstock Arena at 3440 Church Street, will open for the 2026-27 season Saturday, November 7.
The arena was originally scheduled to open Monday, November 2; however, when staff turned on the ice plant and began the process of making ice, they were met with compressor issues (which have since been fixed) and warm weather in the uninsulated arena.
With warmer daytime weather over the coming weeks and cooler nights, staffing has been shifted to later in the day so ice can be built during the evenings, said a township statement.
It asked residents to keep this date change in mind when planning visits to the facility, booking ice rentals, and attending programs.
