Free on-street parking back in downtown Oshawa

The City of Oshawa is offering free on-street parking in the downtown starting at noon daily from Monday, December 13 up to and including Friday, December 31. Parking will be free all day on December 25, 26 and January 1 due to statutory holidays.

The move is aimed at supporting small and family-owned businesses in downtown Oshawa during the holiday rush, said a city statement.

Fees for on-street parking still apply between 8 am until noon, Monday through Friday. On-street parking will continue to be free after 6 pm during the week and all day on weekends and statutory holidays, the statement said.

Reminders:

  • Paid parking will still be required for off-street municipal parking lots and parkades.
  • On-street parking is not permitted on Oshawa streets between the hours of 3 am and 6 am, from December 1 to April 1.
  • In addition to the 3 am to 6 am winter seasonal parking regulations, vehicles parked on Oshawa streets at any time while salting/snow clearing is underway may be ticketed and/or towed.
