Oshawa is offering free on-street parking in downtown from noon daily beginning Monday, December 9 up to and including Tuesday, December 31.
Parking will be free all day on December 25, 26 and January 1 due to statutory holidays, said a city announcement.
Fees for on-street parking still apply between 8 am until noon from Monday to Friday. On-street parking will continue to be free after 6 pm and on weekends and statutory holidays, it added.
The relaxation is aimed at making shopping and dining in downtown Oshawa easier during the holiday season.
Reminders:
- Paid parking will still be required for off-street municipal parking lots and parkades.
- On-street parking is not permitted on Oshawa streets between the hours of 3 am and 6 am, from December 1 to April 1.
- In addition to the 3 am to 6 am winter seasonal parking regulations, vehicles parked on Oshawa streets at any time while salting/snow clearing is underway may be ticketed and/or towed.
