Gun safe stolen during daytime while homeowner was away

Durham police said several firearms have been stolen after a residential break-and-enter in Beaverton in the Township of Brock.

On Tuesday, February 17, around 8:10 pm, members of North Division responded to a break-and-enter call at a residence in the area of Thorah Concession Road 4 and Thorah Side Road.

The homeowner departed his residence in the early morning and returned home after 5 pm, to discover that the front door was open. A search of the home revealed that a gun safe had been stolen.

Anyone that was in the area on Tuesday, February 17 between 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and has cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage, or has any information about this incident is asked to contact the North Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1505.
