Gun seized after man threatens victims

Durham police officers investigating a dispute in Oshawa arrested a male and seized a firearm.

On May 17, members of Central West Division responded to an unwanted person call in the area of Niagara Drive and Simcoe Street North in Oshawa. The suspect was involved in a verbal argument at a residence when he pulled out a firearm and threatened to shoot the occupants. The suspect fled in a black Mercedes. Responding officers located the vehicle and the suspect was arrested. Officers located a firearm which was seized, said a police media release.

A 20-year-old of Woodbridge was charged with 20 charges including: Operation While Impaired; Pointing a Firearm; Careless Storage of Firearm; Contravention of Storage Regulations; Carry Concealed Weapon; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Car and Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm or with Readily Accessible Ammunition.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Firearms, cash and drugs seized

Three males and one female face numerous firearms-related charges after a gun investigation led to the seizure of firearms, ammunition, cash and drugs.

On Friday, May 15, members of the Gun and Gang Unit concluded a firearm investigation. Investigators executed search warrants at two residences in Oshawa, a third in Whitby and a vehicle. Investigators seized a Glock handgun, Airsoft rifle and handgun, approximately $150,000 in drugs (fentanyl, cocaine, crystal meth), ammunition and approximately $30,000 in cash.

Ishmail Baker, age 23 of Hortop Street in Oshawa, faces 11 charges including: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x3; Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000; Careless Storage of Firearm; Tamper with Serial Number and Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm.

Nicole Campbell, age 21 of Bushford Street in Clarington, was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x3 and Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000.

Alexander Woodcock, age 24 of Ridgecrest Avenue in Oshawa, was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x3 and Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000.

Shakuur Noor, age 24 of Hortop Street in Oshawa, faces 7 charges including: Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm; Careless Storage of Firearm; Tamper with Serial Number; Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm and Store Firearm Contrary to Regulations.

They were all held for bail hearings.
