Gunfire reported from two areas of Oshawa

Durham Police is trying to identify a vehicle and suspect(s) after gunshots were heard in two separate areas of Oshawa early Friday morning.

On September 6 at 2:15 am, members of Central East Division were called to the area of Beatrice Street East and Harmony Road North in Oshawa after a cyclist witnessed a white older model sedan drive by and he heard two shots from within the vehicle. The cyclist fell off his bike and contacted police. He didn’t sustain any injuries. Police searched the area for the vehicle with negative results. Police located shell casings on Harmony Road.

Several minutes after this first report of gunfire, more gunshots were heard in the area of Grandview Street North and Conlin Road East in Oshawa. These two incidents may be related. No injuries were reported and no shell casings were located.

Investigators are asking citizens in both areas to check their properties for damage and review any video surveillance footage available, especially between 2 a.m. and 2:30 am Friday morning.
