Have your say on widening of Pringle Creek bridge

The Regional Municipality of Durham is inviting the public to review and comment on the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study to improve Pringle Creek Bridge on Brock Street South (Regional Road 46) in the Town of Whitby.

When: August 13 to September 26.

Where: Bridge over Pringle Creek on Brock Street South, located approximately 700 metres south of Victoria Street, in the Town of Whitby.

Why: The existing bridge was fully re-constructed in 1962 and now requires rehabilitation. It is also causing flooding upstream due to the limited width of the creek under the bridge.

Note: Construction is anticipated to start in 2021. The study includes consideration of existing and future traffic needs for the area, and improvements for better pedestrian, cycling and Waterfront Trail connections, said a statement.
