Help identify car in Ajax drive-by shooting

It’s been over a year since a Pickering man was struck multiple times by bullets in a drive-by shooting and Durham Police investigators are hoping the release of new information will generate more leads.

The 39-year-old male victim was sitting in his vehicle on Hibbard Drive in Ajax on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 9:10 pm, when an unknown dark-coloured mid-sized SUV drove by several times and fired multiple rounds at the parked vehicle. The 39-year-old male was struck multiple times and rushed to hospital in critical condition. He continues to recover from his injuries.

A video of the suspect vehicle was later released and can be viewed below. The new information being released by the investigative team is:

– 14 bullets struck the parked vehicle, a 2007 Black Hyundai SUV
– Investigation has confirmed this was a case of mistaken identity
– The victim required 10 surgeries and remained in hospital for two months as part of his recovery
– Suspect vehicle sped away southbound on Hibbard Drive toward Fletcher Avenue away from the scene.
