Help police find the chocolate bars bandit

Durham police are looking for a male suspect after he assaulted a loss prevention officer and stole chocolate in Scugog.

On Thursday, November 6 at around 6:30 pm, an unknown male attended the Independent Grocers located at 1893 Scugog Street in Scugog.  The suspect put six cases of Dairy Milk chocolate bars worth more than $400 into a blue duffle bag before fleeing the store.

A loss prevention officer attempted to stop the suspect but was sprayed by the suspect with what is believed to be pepper spray.  The suspect fled the area in a dark-coloured SUV, police said.

The victim was transported to a local-area hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect is described as: male, White, approximately 5’6”-5’10” tall, 40-55 years-old, with brown hair, and a medium build. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, medical mask on his face, and blue jeans.

The suspect SUV is described as a dark-coloured compact SUV.
