Hit-and-run driver stops near victim… then takes off

Oshawa: Durham Police are looking for male driver who hit a woman in Oshawa, stopped for a while, then took off.

On Thursday, August 8 at 1:30 pm, police responded to the area of Simcoe Street South near the westbound 401 on-ramp for reports of a pedestrian struck. A 30-year-old female was found with serious injuries.

Witnesses indicated the male driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene briefly before returning to his car and heading onto the westbound 401. The woman was taken to a Toronto trauma centre where she remains in stable condition.

The suspect driver is described as: male, white, 5’8″ tall, approximately 50-years-old with a medium to heavy build. He had dark hair and was wearing a dark T-shirt and dark baseball cap.

The suspect vehicle is described as: a maroon Chevy Cruze.
