Durham police yesterday said a male is facing stolen vehicle charges after fleeing from a collision in Scugog.
On Tuesday, December 30 at about 12:50 am, members of North Division responded to a collision in the area of Lake Ridge Road and Regional Highway 47. Police arrived on scene and were informed that one of the drivers fled the area on foot.
A check of the male’s vehicle confirmed it had been stolen from the Toronto area.
Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit and Tactical Support Unit, searched the area and located the suspect hiding in a heavily wooded field, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, age 54 of No Fixed Address was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
