Several seen leaving scene of shooting, police seek info

Durham police are appealing for information in regards to a shooting that left one male with serious injuries in Oshawa.

On Sunday, December 21 at about 6:05 am, members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Simcoe Street North and Bond Street East.

A male was located on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound before being transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in life-threatening condition. The victim’s condition has since been upgraded to stable, police said.

Investigators have determined that the shooting took place in an apartment just south of where the victim was located at Simcoe Street North and Bond Street. Multiple people are seen on surveillance video leaving the area following the shooting, police said.

Police are requesting anyone with information to contact them or submit an anonymous tip to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers. Investigators are also requesting any businesses in the area review their surveillance video systems for any possible footage of the incident.

Anyone with cellphone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Wade of Central East Division at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2740.
