Hit toddler spends her birthday at Sick Kids in Toronto

Eliya, the two-year old – who was hit with four other under-three-year old kids and a daycare worker – spent her birthday on Saturday, October 24 at Sick Kids in Toronto.

They were hit during their morning daycare class walk (see below). Eliya was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre with life threatening injuries after the incident in Oshawa on Wednesday, October 21 at about 9:20 am.

She is the daughter of Keiko and her husband Aaron, who are enduring every parents’ worst nightmare, say Julie Bain and Joanna, Keiko’s friends and colleagues. They said Eliya had been airlifted to Sick Kids and is being cared for in the ICU.

Keiko and Aaron have also just welcomed their son, Reuel, some two weeks ago.

“We need to support Eliya so she can get back to her big sister role that she loves! Please consider donating to the family fund or sharing this post so we can help keep Aaron and Keiko with Eliya while she heals, Keiko’s friends added.

Julie Bain organized a GoFundMe for the family five days ago which, by last night, had raised $19,135 of $20,000 target from 230 donations.
