Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been called after a man was injured during an arrest on Tuesday.
On November 12 at 5:15 pm, a suspect who was in the custody of Durham Regional Police, escaped lawful custody while attending Lakeridge Health Oshawa for tests.
The 27-year-old male was located at a nearby building and with the assistance of our K-9 Unit, he was taken into custody.
He was taken to hospital for injuries sustained during the arrest.
As is the protocol, the SIU was called to be notified of the incident. The SIU has invoked its mandate.
