Lakeview Boulevard is being reconstructed from Pickering Beach Road to Shoal Point Road, according to an announcement by the Town of Ajax.
The town has retained Blackstone Paving & Construction Limited to complete the works. These include:
- Full-depth road reconstruction from Pickering Beach Road to Poplar Avenue and from Maple Avenue to Shoal Point Road
- Top lift asphalt from Poplar Ave to Maple Avenue
- Twinning of the existing waterfront trails and trail re-alignment
- Grading and drainage improvements
- Installation of CSP culverts
- Ditching and landscape features
The work is scheduled to start in the fall of 2020 and be completed by the spring of 2021 provided there are no delays due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, the town statement said.
Vehicle and pedestrian access on Lakeview Boulevard will be maintained during construction whenever possible. However there will be lane and potential intermittent road closures including trail and driveway restrictions necessary to complete the work. Advanced notices will be provided when driveway access may be restricted.
The town asked residents to ensure that all fixtures and equipment such as irrigation systems within the public right-of-way are removed prior to the start of construction. It said the town will not be responsible to repair any damage to existing lawn sprinkler/irrigation systems or other fixtures or equipment installed by private owners within the public right-of-way (the area beyond your property line).
