Man assaults two staff on GO Train in Whitby

Durham police said a male suspect is wanted after two Metrolinx employees were assaulted on board a train in Whitby.

On August 5 at about 7:00 pm, members of Central West Division were called to the north platform of Metrolinx Whitby Station for a disturbance. The suspect had entered the westbound train at the Oshawa station. He became involved in a verbal altercation with a Metrolinx employee. The suspect then became aggressive, pushed the victim down and began striking him. The train engineer came to assist the victim and was also assaulted by the suspect, said a police statement.

The victims managed to get the suspect off the train and he fled on foot before police arrival.

The two male victims suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The suspect is described as male, white, 5’9″ tall, short hair, thin build. He was wearing a black shirt with cut off sleeves, camouflage pants, dark mask and was missing a black shoe.
