Man found dead in Oshawa home fire

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said a man has been found dead in a home that caught fire in Oshawa.

It said the coroner was called in to determine the cause of the death.

This fire in Oshawa is now a fatal fire…A deceased adult male was found in the home where the house fire occurred. Coroner will be attending…The investigation is ongoing and we are working with our partners to determine what occurred, said DRPS tweets.

It said earlier, members of the DRPS Central East Division were assisting Oshawa Fire Services (OFS) with containing a scene of a house fire on Pearson Street in Oshawa.

OFS extinguished the fire.

OFS said its fire inspectors, along with DRPS and Ontario Fire Marshal’s office, were at the scene investigating the scene.
