Man held for stabbing a family member

Durham police yesterday said a 23-year-old Oshawa male has been arrested for stabbing a 26-year-old family member at a residence in Oshawa.

On March 21 at about 10:30 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a residence in the area of Adelaide Avenue West and Park Road North in Oshawa for a stabbing. Officers located a 26-year-old male who had serious but non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed. The suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal dispute prior to the stabbing. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre, police said.

The suspect was arrested and is facing numerous charges.

He is charged with Aggravated Assault; Fail to Comply with Probation x2; Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
