Man pistol whipped during an Ajax bar row

Two men are facing charges after a victim was pistol whipped during an altercation at a bar in Ajax, Durham police said yesterday.

On July 12, just before 5 am, police responded to an armed person call at a bar in the area of Westney Road and Clements Road in Ajax. A 37-year-old injured male was located, after being involved in an altercation with two male suspects. One of the males was armed with a handgun and pistol whipped the victim and the second male hit the male with a bottle.

On July 16, as a result of the investigation, one suspect was arrested outside a business in Oshawa and the second was arrested outside a business in Scarborough.

Shea Betton, age 32 of Havenlea Road in Scarborough is charged with: Pointing a Firearm; Assault Cause Bodily Harm; Assault with a Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon and Weapons Dangerous.

Sajeevan Yogendrarajah, age 32 of Budworth Drive in Scarborough is charged with: Assault Cause Bodily Harm; Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous.
