Man tries to rob store, flees through cemetery

Durham Police investigators are looking for a male suspect after an attempted robbery at a cellphone store in Uxbridge.

On Saturday, September 24 at about 5:20 pm, members of North Division were called to the Telus Mobility store on Toronto Street in Uxbridge for an attempted robbery. A male suspect tried to gain access into the commercial premise while armed with a metal object and what appeared to be a firearm, said a police statement.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The male was last seen running through the Uxbridge Cemetery, near Cemetery Road, it added..

The suspect is described as male, Black, 15-20 years of age. He wore all black clothing and had a backpack.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with dash-cam or surveillance video in this area at the time of the incident.
