Mismatch of one covid case between Tue-Wed

Durham Region Health Department yesterday said 1,609 Covid-19 cases have been reported in the region since February 29. One new covid-related death was announced.

Durham Health had said the number of Covid-19 infections on Tuesday had stood at 1,601.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday there is an unexplained mismatch of one case.

Of the total cases, 9 are hospitalized, of which 4 are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Deaths total 179, of which 151 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 1,281.

Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide Covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 531 were in Pickering followed by 415 in Ajax and 259 in Oshawa.

Death Toll: One new death reported in Pickering

  • Of the 90 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTCH
  • Of the 37 reported deaths in Ajax, 31 were in LTCH
  • Three deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
  • Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH
  • Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
  • 19 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 18 in LTCH
  • No deaths have been reported in Scugog
  • No deaths have been reported in Brock
