Environment Canada had issued a weather advisory forecasting significant snowfall in Durham region for Monday, and into Tuesday morning.
Residents are encouraged to use extra caution when driving.
Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres have been forecast.
Environment Canada reminded motorists to drive according to the road and weather conditions and to stay a safe distance back from other vehicles, including snowplows.
