No covid death in Durham two days in a row

Durham Region Health Department yesterday said 1,585 Covid-19 cases have been reported in the region since February 29. No new covid-related death was announced for the second day in a row.

The number of Covid-19 infections on Sunday had stood at 1,576.

Of the total cases, 21 are hospitalized, of which 4 are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Deaths total 177, of which 150 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 1,242.

Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide Covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 520 were in Pickering followed by 409 in Ajax and 254 in Oshawa.

Death Toll: No new death reported

  • Of the 89 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTCH – no change
  • Of the 37 reported deaths in Ajax, 31 were in LTCH – no change
  • Three deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH] – no change
  • Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH – no change
  • Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH] – no change
  • 18 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 17 in LTCH – no change
  • No deaths have been reported in Scugog – no change
  • No deaths have been reported in Brock – no change
