Nominate your choice of community volunteer

The City of Oshawa has announced that it will recognize volunteers for their service to Oshawa community-based organizations.

It said individuals must be nominated for recognition by their volunteer organization. Each organization is permitted to nominate two individuals annually, said a media release.

If you are part of an Oshawa-based community organization and have a volunteer who meets the below criteria, please visit the City Clerk’s Office located on the Fifth Floor, City Hall, 50 Centre Street South to obtain an application form or visit www.oshawa.ca (News & Alerts).

  • All volunteers must be currently active in their volunteerism.
  • Volunteers must have completed at least five years of continuous volunteerism for the organization submitting the nomination.
  • If payment has been received for any services provided, recognition is not permitted.
  • Recognition will be provided to each volunteer only once for each organization in which they qualify.

The deadline for submission of application forms is Friday, March 6.  Recognition will be provided to successful applicants at a City Council meeting to be held in April.
