It will host its first ever Citizens’ Police Academy with the first class starting January 8. This 10-week program will run until March 11, with weekly classes taking place Wednesdays from 7-9:30 pm.

“The program will give attendees the opportunity to see first-hand what we do and how we do it. Candidates will be introduced to numerous areas of the service and our partners within Durham Region. The academy will include demonstrations, presentations and voluntary participant interactions,” said DRPS media release.

Topics will include:

  • The DRPS organizational structure
