Oshawa, Pickering road works start on Monday

The Regional Municipality of Durham has advised residents of temporary road closures and lane restrictions in Oshawa and Pickering from Monday.

Oshawa Boulevard in Oshawa will be closed to install new water and sewer services

  • When: December 16 to 20
  • Where: Oshawa Boulevard, from Vimy Avenue to St. Eloi Avenue, in Oshawa.
  • Why: To install new water and sewer services.

There will be northbound lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North as crews construct an entrance in support of new development.

  • When: December 16 to 20. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: Simcoe Street North, at the Robert Street intersection, in the City Oshawa.
  • Why: To construct an entrance in support of new development.

There will be lane restrictions on Church Street (Regional Road 24) in Pickering for road works.

  • When: December 16 to February 28.
  • Where: Church Street, from 400 metres south of Kellino Street to 250 metres north of Kellino Street, in the City of Pickering.
  • Why: Road widening and the installation of turning lanes onto Kellino Street to support new development.

There are lane restrictions at the intersection of Victoria Street (Regional Road 22) and South Blair Street in Whitby this weekend, as the Region of Durham installs a new watermain.

When: Saturday, December 14 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, December 15 at 5 pm.

Where: The intersection of Victoria Street and South Blair Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction. No left turns onto South Blair Street from Victoria Street will be permitted during construction.

Why: To safely install a new watermain.
