Oshawa, Whitby, Clarington road closures details

The city of Oshawa has announced that Townline Rd S between Bloor St to Southgate Dr will be closed on Monday, October 7.

The city’s contractor, D. Crupi & Sons Ltd. will pave the final lift of asphalt with an anticipated completion date of the same day.

Traffic restrictions: Appropriate signage will be in place.

  • No Left Turn or Right Turns will be allowed onto Townline Rd South from Bloor St E.
  • No Straight through will be allowed for Traffic headed south onto Townline Rd S at the Bloor St E Intersection
  • Down Cres will have one entrance open at all times during the construction period because they do not have access to any detour streets.
  • No Side Streets will be allowed to have access to Townline Rd S, other than Down Cres

Notification letters have already been delivered to residents adjacent to the work.

Whitby Closure

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department has advised that Timber Mill Avenue in Whitby will be closed until October 11 evening.

  • Where: Timber Mill Avenue, from Brock Street (Highway 12) to Valleywood Drive, Whitby.
  • Why: To facilitate a storm sewer installation on Brock Street.

Bowmanville Lane Restrictions

There will be lane restrictions on the Bowmanville Creek and CP Rail bridges on Bowmanville Avenue as Durham Region crews complete bridge repairs.

The work has begun and is expected to be complete by October 18.

  • Where: The Bowmanville Creek bridge and the CP Rail bridge on Bowmanville Avenue in the Municipality of Clarington.
  • Why: Bridge repairs.

Clarington Road Closure

Bennett Road from Wilmot Creek Drive to Port Darlington Road will close from Monday, October 7 until November 2 for road reconstruction.

Detours available via East Shore Drive and Lambs Road.

Newcastle Road Closure

A full closure of Lovekin Road, Newcastle is scheduled to begin Tuesday, October 15. The road will be closed for two weeks while road and structure work takes place. There will be no access to the public during the closure due to safety reasons.

Uxbridge lane Restrictions

There will be lane restrictions on a portion of York Durham Line (Regional Road 30) in Uxbridge.

  • When: Work begins this week and is expected to be complete by June 2020.
  • Where: York Durham Line, from south of Regional Road 8 to north of Vivian Road, in the Township of Uxbridge.
  • Why: Road rehabilitation and widening, as well as the installation of traffic signals at the intersection of York Durham Line and Regional Road 8.

Brock Intersection

The Region of Durham is reconstructing the intersection of Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) and Regional Road 13 in the Township of Brock.

  • When: Work begins next week and is expected to be complete by August 2020.
  • Where: Road closures will be staged, beginning with the north and east approaches to the intersection. For ongoing updates about the project, visit durham.ca/WorksProjects.
  • Why: To safely complete reconstruction and intersection improvements.

Note: During construction, the intersection will operate as an all-way stop.
